Urshan College (UC) is excited to announce that we are now able to offer distance learning in all 50 states!
The achievement of regional accreditation with the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) has opened a number of doors for Urshan College and its students. One of those doors has been eligibility to participate in the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC SARA) NC. Previously, in order to be authorized to offer distance learning courses or programs in states other than Missouri, UC had to work with each state individually to see if we met their authorization criteria. While we were authorized fully in some states, other states only allowed particular programs, and still others denied us altogether due to our lack of accreditation.
After receiving early initial accreditation with HLC, our distance learning department immediately made application to NC SARA. On October 21, 2020 Urshan College received authorization from NC SARA to participate in their reciprocity agreement to offer UC’s complete distance learning program in 49 states. In addition, The state of California independently authorized UC to offer distance learning in California to round out all 50 states.
This is an incredible opportunity for prospective students who are unable to relocate to our Wentzville campus, and have up to this point not been able to participate in our distance learning program due to UC not being authorized in their state of residency. Urshan Graduate School of Theology (UGST) has been a participant in NC SARA since 2016.
